DESCRIPTION:IHEA Basic Hunting Incident Academy®\nProfessional Training for Wildlife & Conservation Officers \nAcademy Purpose\nThe IHEA Basic Hunting Incident Academy® is designed to train Wildlife Officers on how to properly investigate\, document\, and report hunting incidents in accordance with best practices and agency standards. \nAcademy Overview\nThis 3-day\, in-person academy provides comprehensive\, hands-on instruction led by an IHEA Qualified Trainer and hosted by a state wildlife agency.\nTraining Topics Include:\n•Agency policies and investigative planning•Tools of the investigation•Bullet-path reconstruction•Evidence kits and evidence collection•Ballistics fundamentals•Blood spatter analysis•Diagramming and documentation•Methodology of hunting incident investigations•Treestand fall investigations•Scenario-based practical exercises \nPre-Academy Online Coursework\nParticipants must complete nine required online courses prior to attending the in-person academy. These courses provide foundational knowledge essential for successful participation.
